Yesterday, I published a link to an interview I did with BlogHer.com COO and co-founder Elisa Camahort Page.  I’ve been a member of BlogHer.com for quite awhile now, and I just joined the BlogHer Ads network as well.  I think BlogHer.com is a great resource for women bloggers, and I hope I can make it to one of the BlogHer conferences in the future.

Currently, BlogHer is conducting a reader survey, and to encourage participation, they’re holding a random drawing among everyone who completes the survey.  The winner will receive a free pass to the BlogHer event of his or her choice (yes, men and women can attend the BlogHer events).  There are three BlogHer conferences to choose from (prize value up to $1,199.00).  If you’d like to take the survey and try to win a free pass to a BlogHer event, just follow the link to take the BlogHer survey.

Good luck!

I spent (wasted) almost 10 minutes answering the BlogHer survey, then got to the income question. I never give out income information in surveys or online. Any other survey I’ve taken gives you an option to leave that blank. This one wouldn’t let me proceed until I filled in the income amount, which I won’t do. This really is a negative about BlogHer, as far as I’m concerned. Yes, it might help their survey statistics, but someone should be able to participate without giving out financial information. I saw no place where I could sent an e-mail to BlogHer about this.

    Mary Emma,

Sounds like that was definitely an oversight on the survey and something I’m sure the team at BlogHer would like to hear your opinion about.

If you scroll to the bottom of the home page of BlogHer.com, there is a contact link. Here it is:

    Hi Mary Emma:

Susan is right that this was an oversight, not a purposeful decision. In previous surveys we’ve always offered a Decline to State for this question. We’re using a different tool this time around, and I think this just got missed.

    I apologize for the inconvenience.

I will personally have an eagle eye out for this when we do our next survey.

Thanks so much for the update, Elisa!
