American Business Media (an association of business information providers founded in 1906) is dedicating the entire month of January 2008 to women working in the field of business-t0-business.  Specialized web content will include articles, blogs and videos from leading businesswomen including, “Allison Arden, newly appointed publisher of Advertising Age and Creativity, and Deirdre Bigley, VP of Worldwide Advertising & Interactive for IBM.”

The American Business Media’s decision to dedicate the month of January to women in business-to-business coincides with its inaugural Women in Business-to-Business: Real Stories, Real Successes event which is being held to recognize the achievements of female executives.  The event will be held on January 23, 2008 at the Prince George Ball Room in New York City.

According to the ABM press release announcing the event, ABM will be honoring the accomplishments of:

Deirdre Bigley, VP, Worldwide Advertising & Interactive IBM, for her success in integrated marketing and advertising communications on a global scale

Nina DiSesa, chairman, McCann-Erickson New York, for her achievements as a creative leader and her new book, “Seducing the Boys Club”

Mary Dolaher, CEO, IDG World Expo, for her leadership and creation of dynamic communities in the face-to-face arena

Erin Moriarty, CBS News Correspondent, “48 HOURS,” for her excellence in exploring some of the most significant social and legal issues today

Gloria Scoby, SVP and Group Publisher, Crain Communications, for 30 years of excellence at Crain Communications and initiating their first foray into online publishing

Peggy Walker, president and COO, Vance Publishing Corporation, for her accomplishments in management, publishing, editorial, operations and circulation positions at leading companies.

If you’ll be in New York City on January 23rd, this sounds like a great event to network.  You can register by following the link to the Women in Business-to-Business: Real Stories, Real Successes web page then scroll to the bottom of the page to purchase tickets.  They are being offered at $95.00 for an individual ticket or $160 for a group package (2 tickets).

Interesting choice of Vance Publishing, considering their declining revenue over the past couple years.
