A week ago I launched my new brand, Be Irresistible Online, with a brand new website, Facebook Page and a completely new design. I’ve been working on this behind the scenes for a few months now and have learned a lot during the process about what makes a great brand and how to have an irresistible online presence.
Here are three of the things that I learned through this rebranding process:
1. It’s Okay to get Help (and can save you a LOT of time, energy and frustration)
I am a designer, and one of the things I help my clients with is designing their brand, including their website, social media and other marketing pieces.
When it came time to do the design for my own new brand, however, I found that I was far too close to my own stuff to be able to do my own design work! I tried, and I wasted a lot of time and still didn’t have something that was right on.
So I hired help. I hired a designer to help me with the design for my new brand, and it quickly came together once I brought in that fresh perspective.
It doesn’t matter whether you technically know what to do or how to do it, sometimes you just need an outside perspective. Sometimes you need help from someone who isn’t as close to your business as you are and can more easily see the big picture.
And if you don’t know how or what, then you really need to get help so that you don’t waste time and energy trying to figure it all out yourself. An expert in that area can get it done sooo much faster than you, or can point you in the right direction to get you started off on the right foot.
2. It’s SUPER Important to have a Design that Makes Your Heart Sing!
My previous design and brand was alright, but it was getting tired and wasn’t fitting very well with who I am now and where I’m going. It didn’t make my heart sing anymore.
And it affected how I showed up in my business! I held back from doing certain things because I was a bit ashamed of how my website looked, or because my Facebook page wasn’t as good as it could be. I wasn’t as confident in getting out there and connecting with people, because I didn’t feel great about the image that was representing me and my business.
Now, I have a brand new design that truly does make my heart sing. I feel all warm and fuzzy when I see it, and you can bet I feel a TON more confident about getting out there in a much bigger way!
3. Your Brand should Reflect Who You are Becoming
This is something I’ve learned from my mentor over the last few months, and it gave me a whole new perspective on branding and building an online Empire. The concept is that your brand should be a reflection of who you are becoming, not who you are now or who you’ve been in the past.
And when you’re brand is a reflection of who you are becoming, who you want to be in 2-5 years from now, it will help to pull you forward into that. It will serve as an inspiration and a reminder of where you are going.
When doing my rebrand, I stopped and thought about what I want to be doing and who I want to be a couple years down the road. Some of the things that came to mind were I want to be a published author, I want to be doing a lot more speaking in person and virtually, and I want to be offering more highend packages and services.
I have big dreams and goals, and my brand needed to reflect that.
When I first saw the proof for my new brand, I immediately though, Oh no, if I look like THIS I won’t be able to hide anymore! It immediately shifted my mindset and made me realize it’s time to play a MUCH bigger game, to really step up and stand in the spotlight, because that’s what my new brand is calling me into.
This experience taught me so much not just about how I can be irresistible online myself, but it also gave me new tools and insights for helping my clients to create an irresistible Empire that makes their heart sing as well.
Does your brand and online Empire make your heart sing?

This is great Jess! I can relate on many levels. I am in the middle of re-branding, website, FB page, message, intent and while I work to help people focus and become crystal clear, it is hard to do to oneself sometimes! My new site will be up shortly and I can’t wait. I also feel proud and excited again – like a new outfit that you know is great for you!
