Many business owners neglect the fact that blogging is an excellent way to increase online visibility and overall exposure of their companies because they’re too focused on sales, inventory, and other aspects of their business.
Startup companies are smart enough not to make the same mistake, and they’re actively focusing on interacting with their customers through their blogs — a move that has shown some fantastic results.
Aside from the fact that blog posts drive potential customers and clients to company websites, there are a lot of other reasons why blogging is the best way to create a solid company reputation.
Gain and Retain Customers
A blog can be a great way to attract new customers and retain existing customers. For any company, customer retention can be a big challenge. Posting regular content to engage the customer base is something that goes a long way, and it’s a great way to build people’s trust in a company and believe in its mission and vision.
Take, for example, email service provider, Aweber. They are one of the top five companies in the email marketing platform industry, and they’re known for giving the best user experience. One of the ways Aweber creates positive UX is through their informative blog posts which include step-by-step lists on how to use each of the tool’s features. They post engaging and helpful articles about email marketing and how companies can use this marketing technique to their advantage.
They know their customers’ pain points, and they address these issues through their blog.
Give In-depth Information about Your Product or Service
No one is going to buy a product or a service if the company trying to sell it embellishes its website with huge ‘Buy now’ buttons. If there isn’t enough information about the product or the service, chances are, people will ignore the company and find another place where they can buy from.
In order to make your prospective customers buy from you, you should give them complete information about your product or service, how it can help them, how much the service or product costs, and why they need to buy from you instead of your competitors.
A typical sales funnel goes like this: Awareness – Interest – Decision – Action.
To address the first step in your sales funnel, you need a vehicle to describe and match your product with the pain points of your customers. This is where your company blog posts come in.
Once you provide detailed information about your product and how you can solve customers’ problems, there is a smooth transition into the next step in the funnel. Resourceful and informative articles on all the aspects of your products can answer a lot of customers’ questions and increase sales.
Have A Voice For Your Company
In the business world, a company’s biggest goal should be to serve customers and make money. But how do companies separate themselves from all the competitors out there?
Companies must have a distinct voice about business-related issues. Online businesses are not limited to their products and services; they have a greater chance to influence people and make a difference.
Expressing your company values and goals through your blog can create a simple but strong interaction with your customers.
Market Your New Products More Effectively
This is one of the most useful aspects of having a company blog. Once you’re ready to launch a product, the most cost-effective way to do it first would be to introduce it to your blog readers.
This has two advantages; they get a sneak peek into the new product which can turn into pre-sales. It can also give you a chance to gain early feedback from the targeted customers about the product.
Create a Connection Between the Company and Customer
You can only succeed in an online business if you’re serving your customers the right way. Knowing what your ideal customers want and designing your products to cater to their needs is the lifeline of any business.
But the process doesn’t end there. Once you turn your potential visitors into customers, you should be able to give them the best after-sales service. This is something many big businesses thrive on, and it’s one of the golden rules of a successful business.
Your blog can be the best way to create the connection between you and customers. Your blog posts can give them a lot of information about your products, and through comments, they can reach out to you if they need any help.
All big businesses like Amazon, Apple, and Tesla depend on customer satisfaction. One of the critical factors to keep your customers happy is to be there for them. This can be done effortlessly through a blog where you answer and solve customers’ questions about your products and services.

It’s rare to see a company actually doing blogging right, but when they do, it’s a beautiful thing. I remember seeing a landscaping company once that was using their blog to create these amazing guides for various landscaping things, and then offering their services at the end of each of them. Needless to say their posts were doing amazing on social media, unlike the boring generic “SEO” posts you see on most company’s blogs.
