What does the future of retail look like?
If there was any doubt that the future of retail would be all about mobile, the data in the new infographic from Colourfast Printing, which is shown below, puts those doubts to rest.
In 2014, the number of mobile internet searches surpassed desktop internet searches for the first time, and mobile internet traffic is taking the top spot across industries. Ecommerce is so yesterday, but m-commerce is it.
Consumers are becoming more comfortable making purchases and managing finances using their mobile devices every day, and this is a trend that will never stop moving forward. Despite privacy concerns and data security threats, consumers are willing to take the risk if it means added convenience and speed. Already 85% of the Amazon website audience visits using a mobile device at least part of the time. Today, 20% of online purchases are made as a result of of browsing through social media sites, and online retail sales are expected to reach $370 billion by 2017.
Take a look at the infographic for more details and to see which retailers are getting it right.
