Forbes has named the World’s Top 100 Most Powerful Women….
You may be shocked at some of the women included, some left out…and where they are all ranking. For instance:
- The President of McDonalds. The company and restaurant that children can spot from five miles away by the golden arches, just made the list at #92.
- Angela Merkel, German Chancellor, is #1 on the list. Angela has moved her way up the list, last year she was #4.
- Oprah was beat out by Lady Gaga this year, dropping to #14, while Gaga is at #11.
- Perhaps not so surprising, Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, is ranked at #5, above Michelle Obama at #8.
The world is full of amazing and powerful women. Personally, I can think of a few women who should be on this list but are not known around the world by millions, but I have no doubt in a few years some of them will be!
This list is just the beginning, but it certainly give recognition where it is due and shows the wide array of fields and interests women have and dominate.
Women are slowly but surely taking over the world….one Golden Arch and Fan Page at a time.
What are your thoughts on the list? Are there some on it that you think shouldn’t be, or some you feel Forbes forgot?

I think it’s an awesome list, although I must admit I was surprised to see some women there. 🙂 There are so many other women (unsung heroes) all over the world who are making a difference and they shouldn’t go unnoticed. Forbes list reminded me that each of us too can make a difference in our own communities/businesses/organizations as women.

Great post. This is strange and seems to be more of a popularity contest/placement rather than based on legitimate talent.
