Did you know that 70% of small business owners describe themselves as “happy” and 97% feel a sense of “pride and accomplishment“? On the flip side – 88% of small business owners say they never fully stop thinking about their business and 39% work more than 60 hours per week.
Those statistics come from a new infographic from Bolt Insurance which examines how happy small business owners are and offers five tips to become a happier business owner. Some highlights from the infographic include:
- 9 out of 10 small business owners are happier running their own businesses than working for someone else.
- 61% think they are happier than their peers
- 97% feel a sense of “pride or accomplishment”
- 50% have trouble separating their professional and personal life
- 39% work more than 60 hours per week
The data in this infographic is a great follow up to the data in the “How to Make Women Happy in the Workplace Infographic” that I published here on Women on Business last week. You can follow the preceding link to view that infographic.
One of the things you’ll notice in comparing the data between the two infographics is that some of the top benefits which small business owners love about working for themselves are the same benefits that make women happy in the workplace. For example, small business owners cite being their own boss, setting their own schedule, and making their own decisions as the top benefits of self-employment.
You can get all of the details in the “How Happy Are Small Business Owners?” infographic below.
