Did you know that women use social media more than men and they use social media sites in more ways than men do?
Research from various sources has found repeatedly that more women use the most popular social media sites than men, particularly Pinterest where 33% of U.S. women who spend time online use Pinterest versus just 8% of men.
That’s not all. Women also access social media sites via mobile devices more than men do. Today, 46% of women use their smartphones and 32% use their tablets to check their social media accounts. For men, 43% access their social media accounts using mobile devices while just 8% do so using tablets. Women are also more likely to engage with brands, and they consume and share news content more often than men do.
Considering that social media currently ranks as the most popular online activity and 60% of social media time is spent on mobile devices, women truly are the power players in social media. Marketers should take notice.

I am not surprised women use social media more than men. It is exciting to hear women are the leaders in this area. Social media drives businesses, homes, finances, entertainment, sports, and much more. Some platforms are better at interacting with women — such as Google + and Pinterest. Others are not so great. Personally, I struggle with LinkedIn — but that is just me.
Thanks for the fantastic information!
