Just a quick update for anyone who visited WomenOnBusiness.com over the past several days and found something strange or not working. Without warning one day last week, the WomenOnBusiness.com web host, BlueHost, deactivated all sites associated with the WomenOnBusiness.com account. Turns out the problem was identified in July, but there is no warning system in place on BlueHost’s side to automate a warning process for site administrators when sites get too big and use up too many resources as WomenOnBusiness.com was doing. That’s not a good thing. Suffice it to say, WomenOnBusiness.com had to find a new web host that would not allow such an occurrence again and would support the site’s continued growth.
Thanks to Monica S. Flores and 10K Webdesign (Monica is also a contributor here on WomenOnBusiness.com), the site was successfully moved to another web host (Nexcess) that not only offers economical hosting packages for growing sites like WomenOnBusiness.com but also has warning systems in place so surprise site deactivations won’t happen again as well as a highly responsive and helpful support team. 10K Webdesign acted quickly and moved WomenOnBusiness.com, found out all the root causes of any problems encountered with the move of a very large site from a web host that was not using all the up-to-date features. The site is now back to 100%!
Again, I apologize for anything odd that you may have encountered while visiting WomenOnBusiness.com over the past week or so. Everything should be fixed and working properly now, so it’s time to get back to talking about business! Thanks for hanging in there with us as we managed through an unfortunate surprise.
